I must say, I really need to keep blogging if I really want a fan base and followers on this site. MINDSET!
Anyways, I have several things for this post. Firstly, I will be happy to let you know I will be doing a review of my newest board, my enjoi Red Light District board very soon. It's a very good deck, I must say.
Next, I am getting another enjoi! That's right, I got money, and decided to invest it into some new product. Not only am I getting another enjoi, but I am also getting a new pair of shoes. The shoes are an Etnies x enjoi collaboration made for Jose Rojo. Look them up, they are called the Jamesons. They are an older shoe, I think they are from spring 2010. You won't be seeing this style on the etnies website. Here is the Zumiez link to the shoe. http://www.zumiez.com/catalog/product/view/id/176705 As I am posting this, there are only 5 pairs each of size 9 and 11, and only one pair each of 10 and 10.5 (EACH ARE U.S.A SIZES!) I luckily had bought the last pair of 12s. I am really looking forward to both of these.
And finally, I will be reviewing my Vans AV Era 1.5 shoes. Undoubtedly, these shoes have to be one of the best shoes I have ever bought.
Now for the story time. During last week, we had two "disasters" out here on the east coast. On Tuesday, August 23, there was a very peculiar and unexpected earthquake in Virginia. I am not sure where the exact epicenter of the "vicious" 5.9 quake was, and I am definitely too fucking lazy to look it up. Comment if you know where. I was headed to the train station in Long Island to get to Manhattan so I could get to my cousin's office so we could head out to New Jersey for our "big vacation" to Massachusetts. As I was leaving, I noticed the couch was shaking. Then I saw my piano shake. And that's when I knew this trip was gonna be interesting. Then all of a sudden there was a big hullabaloo about the earthquake all over facebook and twitter and people uploading all these pictures making fun of the quake. My first reaction was, "What the fuck? Overreaction much..." Anyway, that doesn't matter. What matters was Hurricane Irene. Stupid bitch Irene ruined my vacation. My cousin (who I shall refer to from now on as Jon) and I left New Jersey on Thursday night, August 25, a day after his 33rd birthday. We left with the hype of Hurricane Irene at its strongest. People were loud and complaining and panic buying. We went to ShopRite and called our purchase of two cases of Rockstar Zero Carb and Nature Valley Yogurt Granola panic buying. So we journeyed on, and getting lost near our destination, being as we had drunk 3 liters of water and each had 2 Rockstars, we desperately needed to pee. Jon's piss took like 3 seconds. Mine felt like it took 5 minutes. And we pissed illegally. Not only illegally, but in a ghetto. A freaking ghetto. With gangs patrolling the area. But we got through it, no scuff. Anyway, we slept in a nice cheap hotel that night and woke up too late to eat breakfast. So we drifted on and went to one of the coolest museums I have ever been to; the Higgins Armory Museum. Amazing stuff in there, I'll tell you that much. You have to go see it yourself to truly understand how breathtaking it was. After the museum, we stopped by a wildly acclaimed burger joint called Wild Willy's Worcester *let it beknown to all of you reading out there that Worcester is pronounced Wuhz-tah* and had amazing hamburguesas. Then we went on to the Cheesecake Factory in Natick, MA where I actually puked from eating too much amazing goodness in one day. But we trolled on and made it to Cambridge. From my perspective, the biggest college town in all of America. I mean REALLY, the words "institute university college tech" should be included in the name, seeing as every single building had at least one of those words imprinted and embossed on its side. Anyway, we at Foundry's On Elm, a trendy hipster bar restaurant in Somerset/Cambridge. The food was amazing, and there I found one of my newest favorite dishes called POUTINE. Anyway, enough rambling, the night went on without a hitch and I was all fine and dandy. We slept at my godfather's house and left the next afternoon after eating at Eat at Mike's Diner in South Boston. What a wonderful vacation.
*3 things! I have received my shoes and board, and now have ordered another pair of shoes and board; Jerry Hsu 2 Fusion in black and an Almost Double Impact board. More to come!!!
